I am wife to Chris and mom to Patrick, Tom, and Nick. I am a daughter, sister, and friend to many and enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I am a native Chicagoan and a converted Hoosier. I graduated from DePauw University (Greencastle, IN) with a BA in Economics. This spring I completed my Masters degree from Bethel College. My career experiences include working in sales, marketing, and accounting for different corporations in Chicago, Minneapolis, and Elkhart. Along the way I also became a small business owner with my husband and I started a business with a friend. Nearly twenty years after graduation I discovered my true passion was educating young minds and preparing them for 21st century success in the areas of business and technology.
My teaching licenses are in Business Education and Career & Technical Education. A Praxis 2 exam is the only thing separating me from adding a math license, my other favorite subject. From 2009-2011, I taught grades 7-12 at Oregon-Davis Jr/Sr High School in Hamlet, Indiana where I was the New Tech Advocate and TAP Mentor Teacher.
I am now the CTE/Business Education instructor at Plymouth High School in Plymouth, Indiana. I am also the Staff Development Director and PBL Facilitator for the Plymouth School of Inquiry, a New Tech school opened in August 2012.
I believe Project Based Learning is the best way to prepare students for the world that awaits them. I am grateful to teach in a New Tech school where we have the resources to engage our students in authentic learning and work with our community.
I enjoy watching my sons play baseball, basketball, and golf and we are big fans of the Chicago Cubs, Blackhawks, and Bears.
